Residential Quality

This Committee aims to maintain the quality of residential life in the 14th Ward. It reviews zoning issues and proposals for residential construction. It brings together in a neutral forum those seeking to make changes with those affected by it in order to find ways of making projects most mutually beneficial. The Committee may take positions, or recommend that the Coalition take positions, on zoning and design issues before appropriate City departments or boards.

Developers are encouraged to meet with the Coalition and the Residential Quality Committee for recommendations before beginning projects.

The Residential Quality Committee has developed memorandums of understanding with large institutions (e.g. Carnegie Mellon University) to lessen impacts and better integrate the programs and goals of the institutions with those of the nearby residents.

Committee Chair:  Lori Fitzgerald
