Commercial Development


The Commercial Development Committee focuses on the vitality of our business district, particularly, but not limited to, the Forbes, Murray and Forward Avenue corridors; and works closely with the Squirrel Hill Business and Professionals Association.

The committee is run on an ad hoc basis; as issues arise we form a committee specially geared to a particular project.

Developers often approach the Coalition for our feedback and/or support. We then have an opportunity to work with owners and developers to create and maintain a neighborhood of which we can be proud.

We have been working closely with the Squirrel Hill Business and Professionals Association in their efforts to develop a Neighborhood Improvement District (NID) for Squirrel Hill.
