Allderdice--National Merit Scholarship

Continuing Allderdice's tradition of outstanding achievement in the National Merit Scholarship competition, Allderdice ranked second among the top five high schools in the Pittsburgh Region in 2005. With one exception, Allderdice has ranked among the top five schools over the last ten years, and ranked 1st in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a few years ago.

The list of high school ranking is as follows:

1. North Allegheny;
2. Allderdice;
3. Shady Side Academy;
4. Sewickley Academy;
5. Franklin Regional; Mount Lebanon

Each year, Allderdice compares very favorably to the top suburban high schools in the region in terms of the number of National Merit Finalists and Commended students.
