NEWS/INFO

Thanks everyone who came to St. Edmunds and talk with Lynette on Tuesday! We are in the middle of trying to schedule a meeting for January and will keep you updated on when it will be.

For the meantime, here are links that might be helpful to us, as well as really interesting:

Next Meeting Date Set!

Join us on Tuesday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Edmund's Academy (5705 Darlington Road) when we will meet with a representative from Councilman Shields' office as well as other representatives from the City. The more people we have in attendance, the better so the City will see how much we want this Skate Park! Spread the word.

Welcome to the SHUC Skatepark Committee page! We are in the process of getting the Skatepark Project back on track. Please come back to this page for weekly updates. All meetings are open to the public, to all ages, and from all neighborhoods!

Project:

  • To build a "street" skatepark in Davis Park (Hobart Street). In the past, there have been no objections from neighbors.
  • The skatepark would be built on city-owned land and would NOT be replacing any existing structures in Davis Park.
  • Would be open to the public.
  • Only skatepark in the East End.
  • Plans have already been completed, but can be changed after we raise money (better quality images to come!)

Next Steps:

  • Have meeting second week of December with city officials in attendance.
  • Despite the economy, find/research funding!
